Route discipline beats route speed
A DC cable solar route that is pulled too fast, bedded on stones or backfilled with the spoil that came out of the trench will fail insulation testing months later, when the trench is closed and the field is fenced. We treat bedding, tension limits and bend radius as acceptance criteria, not as good practice.
Every circuit is labelled at both ends and recorded on the route drawing as it is laid. When the commissioning crew arrives, the cable schedule matches what is actually in the ground — which is the difference between a two-day and a two-week fault hunt.
Civil works that leave the site usable
Trenching, access tracks, drainage crossings and reinstatement run with our own excavators and trenchers. On agricultural land we separate topsoil from subsoil during excavation and restore the profile in the correct order, which is normally a condition of the lease and always a condition of a quiet handover.
Where the client provides machinery or fuel, that resource comes out of the estimate and the price per MW drops accordingly.
Frequently asked questions
01Do you handle the earthing grid as part of the cabling package?+
Yes. Earthing conductors, bonding of structures and continuity to the transformer stations are part of the same scope, tested and recorded before backfill closes the trench.
02Who is responsible if a cable fails insulation testing?+
We are, for anything within our installed scope. That is the practical reason we test circuits before backfill rather than after — a fault found in an open trench costs hours, the same fault under a restored field costs days.
03Can this package be contracted separately from the piling?+
Yes. Cabling and civil works are frequently taken as a standalone package behind another contractor's structures. We only ask for a clear interface point and access to the pile as-built records.
