Ground conditions decide the method, not the schedule
Geotechnical reports rarely survive first contact with a 40 MW field. We start with a test-pile campaign, confirm embedment depth against pull-out results and adjust the driving method per zone rather than per project. Rocky ground gets pre-drilling, soft or reclaimed land gets longer piles or a revised profile, and both are agreed with the designer before series production starts.
That approach keeps the deviation log short. Where piles do drift out of tolerance, we correct them during the same pass instead of leaving the structures crew to absorb the error — a pattern we documented in detail on a 36 MW project in Sweden.
Crews and rigs mobilised as one unit
Piling, structures and module installation run as a single mobilisation: our own rigs, excavators, torque tools and measuring equipment travel with the crews. On sites where the client already has machinery or fuel, we take that resource out of the estimate and reduce the price per MW accordingly.
Daily output is reported against the installation programme, so the cabling and electrical packages can be sequenced behind the piling front without idle time between trades.
Frequently asked questions
01What pile driving output can you achieve per day?+
Output depends on ground, pile length and field geometry. On typical agricultural ground a rig reaches several hundred piles per shift; rocky sections with pre-drilling run considerably slower. We confirm realistic figures after the test-pile campaign, not before it.
02Can you build on agricultural or reclaimed land?+
Yes. Reclaimed sites, former landfill, slopes and mixed soils are routine for us. They change the foundation method and the pile schedule, which is exactly why we run test piles before fixing the programme.
03Do you supply the structures or install client-supplied ones?+
Both. We install any mainstream fixed-tilt or tracker system supplied by the client, and we can also take procurement into our scope as part of a turnkey solar EPC contract.
