Modules arrive as finished electrical products but pass through several high-risk construction steps before producing energy. Poor unloading, wet or unstable storage, repeated handling and rushed mounting can create visible damage or defects that appear only during testing and operation. A controlled module process begins at delivery and ends with traceable installation.

Inspect the delivery before accepting it

Check transport condition, packaging, pallet stability, labels and visible damage against the delivery documents and manufacturer instructions. Record exceptions before pallets are moved into site storage.

Create a quarantine route for suspect material. Damaged modules should not enter normal stock and reappear at the workfront without a documented decision.

Store for weather, security and flow

Storage areas need suitable bearing capacity, drainage, security and access for approved handling equipment. Packaging orientation, stacking limits and exposure rules follow the manufacturer—not a generic site habit.

Organise stock by batch and planned zone. Fewer handling steps reduce breakage risk and help crews receive the correct quantity without opening uncontrolled pallets across the site.

Control transport and first-off mounting

Use the lifting points, carriers and crew method approved for the module and pallet. Modules should not be carried by cables, connectors or junction boxes, nor placed where frames and glass can contact hard edges.

The first installed tables should verify clamp zones, orientation, cable position, fasteners, torque method and visual acceptance before production mounting starts.

Segregate damage and preserve traceability

Crews need simple criteria for cracked glass, frame damage, backsheet concerns, loose junction boxes and connector damage. Suspect modules are labelled, isolated and assessed under the agreed nonconformance process.

Batch, serial or pallet traceability, damage logs, photos and installed-zone records support warranty discussions, commissioning checks and targeted inspection later in the asset life.
